Africa's population is projected to reach approximately 25% of the global total by 2050, driving significant expansion in the continent's middle class — and, with it, demand for products built on petrochemical-derived raw materials.
At the same time, Southern Africa's petrochemical sector is aging and underinvested, at a disadvantage to global hubs like the U.S. Gulf Coast, China and the Middle East. Zestchem is addressing that gap: leveraging existing capabilities, investing in port-based infrastructure — liquid bulk storage, dry warehousing, integrated logistics — and positioning as a key import and distribution hub for petrochemical-related products into Southern Africa.

Global polymer distributor NCT Holland has officially entered the South African polymer market through a collaboration with Zestchem. NCT supplies a full range of polyethylene, polypropylene, PET and PVC, with turnover exceeding €500 million and annual volumes of around 450,000 tons. Zestchem brings local stockholding, local currency transactions, and Southern African warehousing and logistics.
